Good Sports logo The City Of Charles Sturt prides itself on offering all people many opportunities to be physically active and enjoy a happy, healthy lifestyle!

There are over 50 Sporting Clubs within the City all offering open membership. These Clubs are located all over the city, with many accessible via public transport. The Clubs work closely with Council who is responsible for maintenance of all sporting grounds throughout the year.

This program offers people the chance to walk on a regular basis with other local residents, the groups are run by a volunteer 'walk organiser'.

Over the past three years the City has also offered a 'free' school holiday sports program involving local Clubs that offer sessions to children through the school holiday's. This program is called the Growing for Gold Program and is run in partnership with the Office for Recreation and Sport.

The St. Clair Recreation Centre is another place where local residents can enjoy the benefits of physical activity and social interaction. The Centre has indoor basketball, netball, soccer and also a roller skating rink. There is also a gymnasium offering group fitness and personal training sessions.

Beach Volleyball is played at Henley Square throughout the summer along with a beach cricket program run by the South Australian Cricket Association.
