Small Business Innovation Research Pilot Program

The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Pilot is a program designed to help small businesses develop products that can solve specific problems faced by State Government agencies.

The program focuses on finding solutions to a problem that a State Government agency has identified and needs addressing for its own operation.

The Assistive Technologies Mapping & Opportunities Project is a project that is being undertaken by the University of Adelaide. The aim of this project is to identify high value practical and actionable target opportunities for SA firms along the Assistive Technology value chain. The project will investigate future demands, current capabilities within our manufacturer sector and future technologies.

Photonics Catalyst Program (PCP) supports the development of innovative photonic products such as sensors, lasers and optical fibres through unique project based collaborations between South Australian manufacturers, researchers, end-users and government. The PCP is being delivered through the University of Adelaide's Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS).

Manufacturing Business Innovation Program (MBI).  The MBI is designed for South Australian manufacturers - especially SMEs – to learn how to explore and target new possibilities of innovation, diversifying your manufacturing and service business models to create customer value and new revenue sources.

Entrepreneurs Infrastructure Programme (AusIndustry)

The Entrepreneurs’ Infrastructure Programme offers easy to access practical support to Australian businesses in a simplified and streamlined way. The Programme is a new approach to the way government provides services to business. It recognises Australia’s diverse business landscape and that the market and industry is changing in the global economy.

With a national network of more than 100 experienced private sector Advisers, the Entrepreneurs’ Infrastructure Programme offers support to businesses through three streams:

  • Business Management;
  • Research Connections; and
  • Commercialising Ideas.

Practical support for businesses includes:

  • Advice from people with relevant private sector experience;
  • Small co-contributions for re-engineering or growth opportunities for business; and
  • Connection and collaboration opportunities.
