The Charles Sturt Library Service is pleased to provide a Book Club collection for
Our program offers a range of titles including both fiction and non-fiction works.
Existing book groups and new clubs may arrange to meet at any of the branches of the Charles Sturt Library Service if possible (during open hours) or at a destination of their choosing for example a member’s home, Community Centres, coffee shops or even the local park.
Our book club program is open to all Charles Sturt Library Service members. Joining is easy: simply fill out a membership form at your local library.
Individual book club groups can access up to 10 copies of each title. A group leader is nominated and will be responsible for liaising with the Library’s Book Club Coordinator as well as collecting and returning all book sets by the due date.
Individuals wishing to form or join an existing book club can register their interest with the Library, either in person, by phone or sending an email to library@charlessturt.sa.gov.au . Wherever possible, individuals registering an expression of interest will be put in touch with existing book clubs or a new book club may be formed.
For all new book clubs formed, a library facilitator can be made available for an initial consultation and support and if required attend the first meeting, after which time the book club is encouraged to be self-administering.
Members of our Book Club program are entitled to borrow up to 12 different titles per calendar year on a rotational, first-in-first serviced basis.
A range of titles will be offered including fiction and non-fiction.
Requests for titles selected from the complete list should be made six (6) weeks in advance; however, no guarantee can be given that the selected titles will be available within this time period. Requests for new titles will be accepted from groups twice a year.
Loan period for book club sets is up to six (6) weeks. If you haven’t finished your designated book by the end of the loan period and wish to do so, you may be able to borrow the same titles from the collection.
